Ladies Night at Mankas Corner (Guys are welcome too!)

Happy New Year!

It is hard to believe the holidays are already behind us! It seems like it was just October, and yet here we are in the new year. We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season - we sure did!

Now that the holidays are behind us, we are back to blogging and highlighting some fun places around the community. Mankas Steakhouse is one of our favorite local restaurants for good food and yummy wine.  It is open for lunch and makes a great stop in between local wine tastings to fuel up before your next winery.

On Tuesday nights, they offer a great special menu for "Ladies Night", full of cocktails, wine,  appetizers and even live music on the patio! Their ladies night menu is very affordable (just $5 for a generous pour of your local favorite!?!) and they feature new dishes seasonally so you can mix it up and can get a different experience every time.

We like to order several appetizers and wine off of the ladies night menu, but the regular menu is never off limits either. Their cast iron-baked mac and cheese is our go-to for the table, because who doesn't love mac and cheese?  Add a couple of their signature salads or another entree and you have yourself a great Ladies Night spread!

The outdoor seating is a great place to retreat to on summer nights, but is also covered up with added heaters  for these chilly winter nights as well.  This is where you'll often see people dancing to the live music on Tuesdays or cozying up next to the fireplace on quieter evenings.

If you haven't stopped by Mankas Steakhouse lately, we highly recommend giving it a try (maybe we'll see you there!).

The Cost of Waiting

The price tag on a house isn’t the only thing to consider when buying your future home. The cost of borrowing money varies greatly depending on the prevailing interest rates and it can make a huge difference on the total amount you're paying for your home over the life of the loan.

Many people don't realize the cost associated with a seemingly small interest rate increase, but even a fraction of a percent can have a significant impact.

Take a look at this infographic we found at simplifyingthemarket.com.  You can see just how much the cost of waiting to buy your next home can add up!
